You can also lure them into attacking enemies for you by chucking the cyber hearts you rip out of your enemies. They’re powerful and hard to kill, so taking one down feels like a genuine accomplishment. These overgrown, laser-eyed Komodo dragons are the only new enemy type in the game, but they offer a nice enough change of pace from the otherwise same-y combat. The most dramatic departure comes from the inclusion of the blood dragons themselves. The story missions, of which there are a paltry seven, never really require you to mix things up beyond the standard blunt-force approach.
The skill tree has been reduced to a single, linear upgrade path, so there’s almost no investment in your character’s progression. The crafting system is gone, so there’s zero incentive to hunt animals outside of the side missions that require it. In Blood Dragon, many of those systems have been stripped down or cut out entirely. Far Cry 3 excelled at providing you with a wide set of interlocking systems that made every minor gameplay feature both inviting and rewarding. Unfortunately, the underlying structure of the game does a fairly poor job of taking advantage of these features.
You can still scout from a distance to mark your enemies and decide whether you want to go in stealthy, guns blazing, or anywhere in between. The fundamentals of combat are completely unchanged as well. You’re still exploring an open-world island, capturing outposts, and tussling with the local wildlife. Litepink noted there was a glitch to refill ammo for free and conserve cash, but this may have been patched: Below is a list by weapon, starting with the total costs for all attachments for the weapon, and then a breakdown of what each attachment costs.
The total credits you need to unlock all the weapons is $43,150. None are related to story progression, and I unlocked this achievement after the third story mission of the game, as that's when I attacked all the garrisons, which in turn unlocked all the side missions. Each attachment can be unlocked either by beating a side mission or achieving a benchmark number of collectibles, such as finding half of the TV sets or killing one of each animal on the island.
To see how to unlock a weapon upgrade, go to the store and choose "Weapons" and then choose the gun you want. Weapons such as the Bow, Terror 4000 and Flamer do not have upgrades and do not count towards this achievement. There are 25 weapon upgrades in the game.
